DoI produces innovations and new technologies that DoT would later acquire and produce. They are divided into many smaller institutions, and private research facilities. Most are disguised as commercial research facilities. Most of them are institutions or research facilities acquired by DoT, and majority are not even aware that they're a part of DoI. Chief Researchers are elected and assigned to each institutions and facilities to oversee the researches and answer directly to DoT. Like DoS, they are comprised of networks of individuals or professionals, and grouped into nodes.
